About Woodhull, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The village of Woodhull, Illinois is found just 15 miles north of Galesburg and 30 miles southeast of the Quad Cities. This community began in 1857, receiving its name for Navy Captain Maxwell Woodhull. Originally a railroad town, Woodhull found some prosperity in the late 1800s with the presence of a brick ad tile factor. With time, many of those industries left the area, leaving the community with a small population of only about 810 residents. Today, Woodhull is primarily a residential community with residents that commute into other cities for work, and local students attend AlWood High School here.

While there aren’t any major attractions in Woodhull, there are a few local businesses. The Woodhull Travel Plaza is a popular convenience store, and shopping is available at the Dollar General and Woodhull Locker. Dining establishments here include Subway and a local bar called End Zone.

Woodhull is located in a humid continental climate zone, so residents should prepare for anything in terms of weather patterns. Winters are especially dangerous in the region, and while snowfall tends to be less than other parts of the Midwest, tempreatures can be frigid. In January, high temperatures often fail to reach the freezing point, but lows are dangerously cold. Ineffective heating systems won’t keep indoor temperatures warm, and pipes could ultimately freeze. A Woodhull HVAC specialist can help residents to select the right gas or electric furnace for their homes.

Snowfall usually ends in March, and temperatures will steadily warm up after that. Thermostat readings can reach well into the 80s during the summer months, and high humidity is also common. During these months, climate controls are recommended at home in order to keep temperatures cool and comfortable. Systems with a good SEER rating will ensure consistent cooling indoors while also helping homeowners to save on their monthly utility costs.
