About Oneida, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The tiny city of Oneida, Illinois is located in Knox County, and only about 700 people call the community home. This city was founded in 1854, and it is situated within the Galesburg Micro Statistical Area. Oneida is found about 20 miles northeast of Galesburg and 50 miles southeast of Davenport, Iowa. Notable residents throughout the years have included politicians A.T. Mcaster and Donald L. Moffitt, as well as MLB player Kid Mohler. ROWVA High School is located in Oneida, and it serves many small communities in the area, including Rio, Wataga, Altona, and Victoria.

Oneida is small geographically as well as by population, so there aren’t any major attractions located here. As far as businesses, Feed Mill Fabric and Quilting calls the community home, as does Anderson State Bank and the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home. The Greig Memorial Library is also located near the United Church of Oneida.

Typical of a humid continental climate zone, the Oneida area experiences four vastly different seasons each year. The winter is arguably the most noteworthy, as it features freezing temperatures and snow. Compared to other parts of the Midwest, snow totals are slightly lower, as only about 31 inches fall here during the average winter. Still, tempreatures are freezing most of the time during the month of January, and overnight lows can fall to dangerous levels. Oneida home and business owners need properly-sized gas or electric furnaces to keep their properties warm throughout the season.

Alternatively, summer weather in Oneida is hot and humid, and average daily highs reach well into the 80s in June, July, and August. A central air conditioner will provide consistently cool air throughout the summer, but it also makes the air healthier. The innovative filters found in newer units remove allergens such as dust, pollen, and pet dander from a home’s indoor environment, leading to a more comfortable environment for people who suffer from allergies.
