About Galesburg, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Galesburg, Illinois is found in Northwest Illinois along Interstate 74. Serving as the county seat for Knox County since 1873, the city is hub for activity in the region. About 31,000 people called the community home as of 2017, which indicates a slight population drop since 2010. Galesburg is home to Knox College and Carl Sandburg College, and the city was recently selected to be the future home of the National Railroad Hall of Fame.

There is no shortage of things to see and do in Galesburg. This city hosts a variety of festivals and events, including Railroad Days, which is held at the end of June. Many present attractions involve the railroad, including the Galesburg Railroad Museum and the Discovery Depot Children’s Museum. Fans of the arts may prefer a look inside the Galesburg Civic Art Center or Creations Glass Studio, and delicious, local restaurants include Grandview Restaurant, Baked, and Landmark Café & Creperie.

Summer weather in Galesburg is a great time to be outdoors, but during the especially hot and muggy days, many residents prefer to stay cool at home. July is the hottest month of the year, and average daily high temperatures reach about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. High humidity levels will make it feel even warmer, and this can be a dangerous time for the elderly, young children, and other vulnerable populations. An energy efficient central air conditioner will circulate cool air through a home before sending it to the supply ducts, allowing Galesburg residents to stay cool while minimizing utility costs.

Winters in Galesburg are dramatically different. Temperatures are freezing cold through much of the season, as average highs in January top out at about 31 degrees Fahrenheit. Evening lows plummet, and when combined with moderate snowfall, travel conditions can be treacherous. A gas or electric furnace at home is a necessity to stay safe throughout the season.
